Asian Mid Autumn Festival emergency freight

The summer holiday is over and your production line is running again at full speed. However, do not forget that your Asian suppliers are now planning their own holidays

Mid-Autumn Festival, Sep 22-24
The second biggest Chinese holiday is held on the fifteenth day of the eighth month according to the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Moon Festival as, at that time of year, the moon is at its roundest and brightest.

Chinese National Day/Golden Week, Oct 1-7
On the first day of October people commemorate the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The preceding weekend days are regular working days to compensate for the week off that follows, which locals usually spend travelling.

How will it affect your shipments?
Most businesses in China will be closed, including customs offices. Other Asian countries are expected to be less affected. Thus, your best bet for timely delivery is with our On Board Courier (OBC) solutions.

It is necessary to anticipate your shipment needs, even urgent ones, and start dealing with them before the holidays begin. After that it is very difficult to obtain a confirmation from airlines. Many cargo flights that would normally be available are cancelled. During the period either side of the holidays, shippers scramble for space on all flights, which results in considerable price increases.
