Priority Air Freight vs Standard Air Freight
This morning (26/10/2021), Air Time Critical® (ATC®) received average transit times between China and Paris Charles de Gaulle from a Chinese freight forwarder. The forwarder highlighted that available freight capacities are decreasing during the week while volumes are exploding. As an emergency specialist, we were particularly interested in airport-to-airport delivery times between China and Paris Charles de Gaulle:
- 4 to 6 days from Guangzhou airport (CAN)
- 6 to 8 days from Shanghai airport (PVG)
- 7 to 10 days from Hong Kong airport (HKG)
These transit times do not include pre/post routing nor importing and exporting procedures. This means that 2 to 3 days need to be added to these estimates to obtain exact door-to-door delivery time frames.
As these are considerable transit times for air freight, Air Time Critical® decided to compare average delivery times between standard air freight and priority air freight (a solution proposed by ATC®). The tables below feature different routes and airlines and show that we can save you 3 to 8 days with a priority air freight solution, depending on the airline.
Average transit times between China and France
Guangzhou (CAN) Airport – Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport
Route | Airline | T/T* | Door to Door |

*T/T stands for “Terminal to Terminal”, which is the transit time between two airports.
Note: Average transit times are given as a guide only and can change depending on freight capacities at the time of booking.
