On July 4, 1776, a document drafted by Thomas Jefferson declared independence from the British Empire. Nowadays, this day is celebrated with fireworks, and parades.
Logistics Impact: This year, airports are expected to be the busiest ever with forecast exceeding pre-pandemic period by 8% (source AAA). Due to the number of people traveling, space on flights for cargo will be even more limited. Other delays might be caused by airport handling staff being overwhelmed by the amount of luggage and cargo.
Recommendations for businesses: Coordinate with suppliers and customers to confirm their holiday schedules and plan accordingly. If you have any critical shipment expected from the US this week, confirm bookings no later than Tuesday, July 2nd evening (CET time).
